Burbank Municipal Code Section 6-1-1010.1 bars parking any Large Non-Commercial Vehicle (RV, motorhome, boat trailer, horse trailer, camper) on a public right-of-way unless a valid LNCV permit is displayed, and never within 80 feet of an intersection. Permits are 24 hours each, capped so no LNCV may stay on the street more than 72 hours.
BMC Section 6-1-1010.1 governs "Large Non-Commercial Vehicle" (LNCV) parking. An LNCV is any house car, pick-up truck with camper, recreational vehicle, trailer, or other vehicle that measures or exceeds 22 feet in length, 8 feet in height, or 8 feet in width. No LNCV may park on any public right-of-way unless a valid LNCV parking permit is properly displayed, and none may park within 80 feet of any intersection of two public streets. Each LNCV permit is valid for 24 hours; up to three may be used consecutively (a "Consecutive Permit Block") for a maximum of 72 hours, after which a separation of at least 48 hours is required before another block. No more than 96 permits may be issued per vehicle per calendar year. Permits are obtained from the city (originally Public Works, now administered by the Community Development Department per Ord. 24-4,012) and must be displayed on the street-side driver's window. This local rule applies on public streets; long-term RV/boat storage is otherwise expected to be off-street.
A violation of BMC 6-1-1010.1 is an infraction enforced through the parking penalty process in California Vehicle Code Section 40200 et seq. (added by Ord. 3778, eff. 6/22/2010). Parking an RV or trailer on the street without a displayed permit, within 80 feet of an intersection, or beyond the 72-hour block limit results in a parking citation and possible tow.
