The City of Deer Park regulates the parking and storage of recreational vehicles, boats, travel trailers, and utility trailers on residential properties under the zoning ordinance and property maintenance code. RVs, boats, and trailers should be stored in side yards or rear yards and must be placed on improved surfaces such as concrete or asphalt. Storage in front yards or on unimproved surfaces is prohibited. All stored vehicles and watercraft must be in a maintained condition and currently registered. RVs may not be used as living quarters while parked on residential property. On-street parking of RVs, boats, and trailers is permitted only temporarily for loading and unloading purposes and may not exceed 48 hours. Oversized vehicles that obstruct sight lines at intersections or driveways are subject to immediate enforcement. Violations of RV and boat storage rules result in code violation notices with a compliance deadline. Continued noncompliance may lead to fines up to $2,000 per day and the city may pursue abatement through municipal court.
