Humble regulates parking and storage of recreational vehicles, boats, and trailers on residential property. RVs and boats should be stored behind the front building line and must not obstruct sidewalks or public rights-of-way, with additional restrictions in some zoning districts.
The City of Humble regulates the parking and storage of recreational vehicles, boats, and trailers on residential property through its zoning ordinance and property maintenance standards. Recreational vehicles, travel trailers, boats, and boat trailers should be parked or stored behind the front building line of the primary residence when feasible. Vehicles and trailers must not be parked on sidewalks, in public rights-of-way, or in a manner that obstructs visibility at intersections. RVs parked on residential property must not be used as living quarters or connected to utilities for habitation purposes unless the property is in an approved RV park zone. Boats and trailers must be in a maintained condition and properly registered. Inoperable or deteriorated RVs and boats visible from the street may be subject to property maintenance enforcement. Some subdivisions within Humble may have additional deed restrictions or HOA rules that further limit RV and boat storage. Contact Community Development at (281) 446-4331 for zoning questions.
Violations of RV and boat storage regulations may result in code enforcement notices with a compliance deadline. Using an RV as a dwelling on residential property may result in zoning violation citations. Inoperable vehicles are subject to abatement.
