Tomball restricts parking and storage of recreational vehicles, boats, and trailers in residential areas. RVs and boats must be stored behind the front building line and screened from public view under the zoning ordinance enforced by Code Enforcement.
The City of Tomball regulates RV, boat, and trailer storage in residential zoning districts. Recreational vehicles, travel trailers, boats, and boat trailers may not be parked or stored in the front yard area forward of the front building line. Storage is permitted in side or rear yards behind the front building line, and must be screened from view of adjacent properties and public rights-of-way where feasible. RVs and boats stored on residential property must be currently registered, in operable condition, and owned by the property resident. Vehicles may not be connected to utilities for habitation purposes on residential lots. Temporary parking in driveways for loading and preparation is permitted for reasonable periods. Code Enforcement handles complaints about non-compliant RV and boat storage. Contact Development Services at (281) 290-1012.
Violations result in a notice of noncompliance with a deadline to relocate the vehicle. Continued violations may lead to citations and fines through Municipal Court. Each day of noncompliance may constitute a separate offense.
