08(B)(8) targets long-term street storage of RVs, trailers, and by extension boat trailers: no person may park a recreational vehicle, or a trailer of any kind or type, on any street for a continuous period exceeding 72 hours. Division (A) defines RECREATIONAL VEHICLE as a vehicle with or without motive power equipped exclusively for living quarters for persons traveling on public streets, and TRAILER as a vehicle without motive power designed for carrying persons or property, built for towing, and constructed so no part of its weight rests on the towing vehicle, a definition broad enough to cover a boat trailer left parked at the curb.

STREET is defined to include the entire width between boundary lines of any publicly maintained way open to vehicular travel, and expressly includes an alley. The 72-hour clock applies to continuous parking on that public right-of-way; the section does not reach an RV or trailer kept on a driveway or in a yard, since it only regulates streets and alleys. The Sheriff or Howard Traffic Commission may grant a limited-time exception under division (B)(9) for specific purposes. Chapter 70 was adopted by BCC Ordinance 2001-59 and applies outside Kokomo, Greentown, and Russiaville.
