Section 10-3.511 (Zoning, Parking on Unpaved Surfaces Prohibited) is the City's primary tool for residential RV / trailer parking. No owner, tenant, manager, or occupant of a residential property may allow another person to keep, store, or park any trailer, boat, or motor vehicle on any portion of a front yard or corner-lot side yard except on an area paved with asphalt, concrete, gravel, or similar substance. Parking on lawn areas or areas intended for landscaping is prohibited. Street parking of RVs is also limited by the citywide 72-hour rule (CVC §22651(k)).
First violation is an infraction punishable by a fine not exceeding $75. Second violation within one calendar year up to $200. Third or subsequent violations within one calendar year up to $500.
