Full Breakdown
Appendix A, Zoning Regulations, Section 4-8(a)(2) treats open storage or parking of light vehicles and recreational vehicles as a customary accessory use in every residential district, but only when storing the vehicle is incidental to the lot's primary use and subject to the nuisance conditions in Section 9-67(4); recreational vehicles may not be occupied on-site. The same subsection separately bars open storage or parking of heavy commercial vehicles or trailers on any residentially zoned lot, street, right-of-way, or shoulder unless the vehicle is attended and actively being loaded or unloaded, a prohibition the code phased in as no longer eligible for legal nonconforming status after June 1, 2003.
Violations & Fines
Zoning administrator enforcement; unpermitted heavy-vehicle storage or an occupied RV in a residential yard is a zoning violation subject to code enforcement citation.
