Sparks lets residents park RVs, boats, camp trailers, and jet skis beside the driveway or along the nearest side property line over a weed barrier and rock cover; paving is optional. Parked RVs can't hook to utilities or be used for storage or living.
After a 2015 code-enforcement update, Sparks allows recreational vehicles, including travel and camp trailers, boats, and jet skis, to be parked next to a driveway or along the closest side property line. Residents must lay a weed barrier topped with rock cover, though a solid paved surface is now optional. A parked RV cannot be connected to water, electricity, or sewer, and it cannot be used for storage or as a dwelling on a private residence. On public streets, oversized vehicles fall under the 48-hour limit and the 24-foot length restriction in Sparks Municipal Code chapter 10.48. HOAs in newer Wingfield Springs and Kiley Ranch communities ban visible RV storage entirely.
Code Enforcement issues a notice with a correction period; unresolved violations draw fines and abatement. HOA violations are fined separately under community CC&Rs.
