Boone County, IN Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

Schedule I to Chapter 72 lists the county's on-street parking restrictions location by location rather than through a single county-wide statute, so whether parking is legal on a given county road depends on whether that road appears on the schedule. Crane Drive was made a no-parking zone by Ordinance 2011-12, passed December 5, 2011; Diane Lane by Ordinance 2005-01, passed January 18, 2005; the 300 feet of Hunt Country Lane nearest its intersection with CR 775 East by Ordinance 2019-07, passed July 1, 2019; a 300-foot stretch of Indianapolis Road running north from State Road 334 and 650 South by Ordinance 2007-05, amended February 12, 2007 and March 12, 2007; and the north side of East Stonegate Drive between Regents Park Drive and the Stonegate Elementary School entrance by Ordinance 2017-07, passed June 5, 2017.

Because each entry is its own ordinance, the Board of Commissioners adds no-parking zones over time as traffic, school-safety or sight-line problems arise on a specific road rather than through a general parking code. A driver checking whether a shoulder or road edge is open to parking has to consult this schedule, since Chapter 70's general traffic regulations do not independently prohibit on-street parking outside these listed segments.
