Grapevine allows on-street parking on most public residential streets subject to a 24-hour limit and posted restrictions. Downtown and event districts near Main Street enforce metered or time-limited parking, especially during Grapefest, Main Street Days, and holiday events. Parking is prohibited within 15 feet of fire hydrants and 30 feet of stop signs.
Grapevine's Code of Ordinances Chapter 16 (Motor Vehicles and Traffic) and Chapter 21 (Streets and Sidewalks) govern on-street parking. On public residential streets without posted restrictions, vehicles may park for up to 24 hours before being considered abandoned under local rules and Texas Transportation Code Chapter 683. Parking is prohibited within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, within 20 feet of a crosswalk, within 30 feet of a stop sign or traffic signal, within intersections, on sidewalks, and in any location that blocks a driveway. Parking against the flow of traffic is prohibited. The Historic Township downtown area includes metered and time-limited spaces, with free parking in several public garages such as the Main Street Parking Garage. Special event parking restrictions are posted during Grapefest, Main Street Fest, Christmas Capital of Texas events, and other festivals. Residential neighborhoods near Grapevine Lake and event venues may be designated as permit-only zones during major events. Heavy trucks (over 1 ton or commercial vehicles over a certain weight) cannot park on residential streets overnight. Enforcement is by the Grapevine Police Department Traffic Division, reachable at (817) 410-3200.
