Pembroke Pines, FL Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

Section 72.04, adopted by Ordinance 939 in 1990 and amended by Ordinance 1995 in 2022, bars two kinds of street obstruction. Division (A) prohibits stopping, standing, or parking on any street or highway in a way that impedes traffic, unless the stop is necessary to avoid a traffic conflict, required by law, or directed by a police officer or official traffic control device. Division (B) separately targets curb-lane loading: stopping in the roadway to load or unload a passenger is unlawful if it likewise impedes traffic flow, a rule aimed at drivers who double-park to drop someone off on a through street.

Enforcement runs through the citywide citation scheme in § 72.06(D). Police officers, police service aides, code compliance officers, and parking enforcement volunteers may all issue a parking citation on a form approved by the Chief of Police whenever a vehicle is found parked, stopped, or standing in violation of any city parking ordinance or state statute. The citation must be affixed conspicuously to the vehicle, and § 72.06(D)(3) gives the owner ten business days from the date of issuance to pay the fine at the location printed on the ticket, along with notice of the right to appeal. Under § 72.06(D)(4), the registered owner is responsible for the citation to the extent F.S. § 316.1967 imposes owner liability.

'No Parking' signage adds a second layer: § 72.06 lets the City Manager post 'No Parking' signs on municipal property such as swales and parks, and those signs must follow the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices and be placed within five feet of each driveway or curb cut, or, absent curbs, at least one sign per 25 feet of lot frontage.
