Miramar, FL Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

Section 20-48 of the Code of the City of Miramar governs parking on every street, right-of-way, and swale, in every zoning district. Subsection (b) makes it unlawful to park "in such a manner as to face oncoming, opposing traffic, whether or not curbing is present," so a vehicle parked against the direction of travel on either side of a two-way street is a violation even without a curb. Subsection (d) separately bars parking "in such a way to impede the free flow of traffic or interfere with the passage of emergency vehicles," and subsection (k) makes it a violation to "stop, stand or park any vehicle so as to deny normal access to any public or private roadway," covering driveway blocking.

The same section layers on distance rules: subsection (e) bars parking within 15 feet of a fire hydrant, subsection (g) bars stopping within 25 feet of a crosswalk or street-pavement intersection, and subsection (l) bars parking within 30 feet of a stop sign, yield sign, or other traffic control device. Subsection (n) covers posted no-parking, no-stopping, and fire-lane zones, and subsection (o) covers marked safety zones. Enforcement runs through Section 20-52, which lets city police officers or code-enforcement officers ticket the registered owner directly, and Section 20-53, which designates the Clerk of the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit for Broward County as the hearing officer for contested tickets. Vehicle owners and the owners of the property where an unattended violating vehicle sits are jointly and severally liable.
