Hollywood, FL Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

Section 72.006 makes it "unlawful to park any vehicle on any street, right-of-way or swale area in such a manner as to face oncoming, opposing traffic, whether or not curbing is present," meaning a driver cannot pull into a spot on the far side of the street and park facing the wrong way, even where there is no curb to define the lane. Section 72.032 separately makes it a violation "to stop, stand or park any motor vehicle so as to block any public or private driveway," reaching a homeowner's own driveway, a neighbor's, or a commercial entrance alike.

A related alley provision, section 72.007(B), bars parking within an alley "in such position as to block the driveway or entrance to any abutting property." These sit alongside other on-street rules in the same chapter: section 72.013 bars parking outside a marked space, and section 72.021 bars parking that usurps the traveled portion of an unpaved or uncurbed street. Both 72.006 and 72.032 trace back to the city's original 1979 traffic ordinance, O-79-13, and 72.032 was later amended by O-2009-06. Enforcement for all of these runs through Parking Enforcement Officers, Code Enforcement Officers, and Community Service Officers under section 72.151, with citations payable within ten business days before late fees attach under section 72.999(J).
