Redmond allows free on-street parking in most residential areas with 72-hour continuous parking limits under RCW 46.55. Downtown Redmond and Overlake have metered and time-limited zones.
Redmond Municipal Code Title 10 governs on-street parking under authority of RCW 46.55 and RCW 46.61. A vehicle cannot remain parked in the same on-street location for more than 72 continuous hours without being considered abandoned and subject to tagging and tow. In Downtown Redmond around Cleveland Street, Leary Way, and Redmond Town Center, time-limited parking (typically 2 to 4 hours) is enforced during business hours to support turnover for retail and transit riders. Residential Parking Zones may be established in neighborhoods near the Redmond Technology Station, Microsoft campus, and Downtown where commuter parking creates spillover. Parking is prohibited within 5 feet of a driveway, 15 feet of a fire hydrant, 20 feet of a crosswalk, and 30 feet of a stop sign per state law. Street sweeping and snow-event no-parking restrictions are posted and enforced. Blocking a sidewalk or bike lane along the Sammamish River Trail connections is a ticketable offense.
