Rock Hill, SC Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

Section 18-172 lists 14 specific places where stopping, standing, or parking a vehicle is unlawful in Rock Hill, unless necessary to avoid a traffic conflict or under a police officer's or traffic device's direction: sidewalks; in front of or near enough to a driveway to block it; intersections; within 15 feet of a fire hydrant; crosswalks; within 20 feet of a crosswalk at an intersection; within 30 feet of a flashing beacon, stop sign, or traffic signal; near safety zones; within 50 feet of a railroad crossing; near fire station driveways; alongside street excavations or obstructions; on the roadway side of another parked vehicle; on bridges or in underpasses; and anywhere official signs prohibit it.

Section 18-178 separately requires that a parked vehicle sit parallel to the roadway edge, headed in the direction of traffic, with its curbside wheels within 18 inches of the curb, except where angle parking is marked and signed. Repeated or unpaid violations proceed to municipal court under § 18-234, where failure to resolve a bond within 30 days requires a court appearance and can result in fines equal to the bond plus court costs.
