Spalding County, GA Parking Rules: Street Parking Limits (2026)

Sec. 7-1004(a) forbids parking, stopping, or leaving any vehicle or obstruction standing on the roadway or right-of-way of a long, street-by-street list the board of commissioners has designated over decades of amendment, covering stretches such as Cheatham Road at the City of Griffin reservoir bridge, North Hill Street from the Griffin city limits to East McIntosh Road, and High Falls Road in three separate segments. Each listed stretch must be left unobstructed for the free passage of other vehicles, and the county is required to post "No Parking" signage before the restriction applies.

Subsection (b) puts the public works director, or a designee, in charge of placing and maintaining those signs "in conformity with the Uniform Regulations of the Department of Transportation of the State of Georgia," so a stretch is only enforceable once state-conforming signage is up. Subsection (d) separately bars parking or leaving any vehicle standing, attended or unattended, on any Spalding County-owned property marked "No Parking," reaching county lots and grounds beyond the numbered street list. The chapter's own violations clause at Sec. 7-1004(c) has been repealed, so enforcement runs through the general Chapter 7 penalty at Sec.

7-1008: any act prohibited, or any required act omitted, under the chapter is a violation, each day of a continuing violation is a separate offense, and conviction carries a fine or imprisonment, or both, up to the maximum set by Georgia law and by Sec. 1-1007 of the county code, which the section incorporates by reference.
