To deter criminal activity and assist with public safety efforts, owners, managers or operators of security camera systems may voluntarily participate in the police security camera share program by registering their security camera systems with the police department and sharing public facing video recordings or video recordings from cameras located on the outside of homes or businesses with law enforcement.(b)The minimal requirements for the registered security camera system include capabilities of recording and retrieving video images and downloading saved images to an external device when needed for review by law enforcement.(c)Commercial or governmental security camera systems seeking to provide real-time video access or other additional network access to the police department to assist with crime prevention or address an active community safety issue may require additional specifications as determined by the police department.(d)Registered systems shall be issued a decal to be posted in a highly visible, conspicuous place at the front entrance of the physical site or location of the security camera system.
