Full Breakdown

Chapter 15.24 of the Cheyenne City Code adopts Chapters 1 and 2 of the 2024 International Property Maintenance Code and renames it the city's Dangerous Building Code. The chief building official applies IPMC Section 108.1.5's criteria to formally condemn a dangerous building; once a structure is condemned on at least two of those grounds, the Cheyenne Historic Preservation Board loses authority to deny a demolition or moving permit for it. Appeals of dangerous-building determinations go to the board of appeals under Section 15.04.020, and violations without a specific penalty default to the citywide misdemeanor fine.

Violations & Fines

Violations default to the general misdemeanor penalty: a fine of up to $750 plus costs, or up to six months in jail, or both, with each day of continued noncompliance a separate offense under City Code 1.24.010.
