Bartow County, GA Public Conduct: Loud Party Ordinance (2026)

Bartow County Code §50-76 defines disorderly conduct, and subsection (11) makes it unlawful to make, or cause to be made, any loud, boisterous, or unreasonable noise or disturbance to the annoyance of other persons near a public highway, road, street, lane, alley, park, square or common, where the noise breaks or disturbs the public peace. The ordinance sets no decibel meter or fixed hour restriction; the standard turns on whether the noise is loud, boisterous or unreasonable and annoys people nearby a public place, so a loud party spilling into a yard next to a county road or park can be cited under this section.

The Bartow County Sheriff's Office and other authorized officers enforce disorderly conduct by citation, filed with and tried in the Magistrate Court of Bartow County, or, for a person under 17, the Juvenile Court of Bartow County (§50-77). Citations must state the time and place to appear, identify the charge, and be personally served on the accused (§50-78(a)). A defendant may post a cash bond set by the chief magistrate for release pending trial, and failure to appear after posting a cash bond is treated as a guilty plea, forfeiting the bond (§50-78(b)). Review of a conviction runs by certiorari to the superior court (§50-81).
