Many Cook suburbs added outdoor smoking bans for parks, beaches, train platforms, and outdoor dining, including Oak Park's beach ban and Evanston's lakefront rule. Tobacco-21 also applies countywide under both state and federal law.
Smoke Free Illinois Act violations carry fines from $100 to $250 for individuals and up to $2,500 for repeat business owners under 410 ILCS 82/35. Local park or beach smoking fines run $50 to $500 per offense.
