Georgetown, TX Public Conduct: Outdoor Smoking Restrictions (2026)

020(A) lists 21 categories of places where smoking is unlawful in Georgetown, and several extend the ban outdoors. Item 14 forbids smoking in recreational and/or park areas where no-smoking signs are posted. Item 15 bans it within the fenced area of the Creative Playscape. Item 19 covers the property of the Georgetown Public Library, including the cafe area and outdoor plazas. Item 20 bans smoking within a building owned, leased, or operated by the City, or within 15 feet of the entrances/exits or openable windows of such buildings, reaching the sidewalks and patios just outside City Hall and other municipal facilities.

020(B) requires whoever controls a covered location to post No Smoking signage at public and employee entrances, and Subsection C requires removing ashtrays and adopting a written smoking policy within 90 days of the provision taking effect. 030 carves out narrow exemptions, including vaping stores closed to minors and not adjoining another public business, certain bar areas grandfathered with separate ventilation, and designated smoking guest rooms capped at 25 percent of a hotel's inventory. 020 requires of a location's owner or operator.
