Summary

No person shall possess, consume, or transport an open container containing any distilled spirits, wine, beer or other alcoholic beverage while upon the streets, sidewalks, or public places of the county, or upon or within any vehicle upon the premises of any business establishment holding a license under this chapter, or in any adjacent parking area of any business establishment holding a license under this chapter. ... In addition to the enforcement of other applicable state laws, violations of this section shall be subject to the issuance of a citation by a certified peace officer with jurisdiction over the venue, returnable to the magistrate court of the county. Any persons found in violation of this section shall be subject to a fine not to exceed $1,000.00 and/or imprisonment of not more than 60 days.
