Full Breakdown

Turlock's code makes it unlawful to consume beer, wine, or any alcoholic beverage on sidewalks, parkways, streets, alleys, public parking lots, other public property, or private parking lots open to the public. The ban does not apply on premises the City has licensed to serve alcohol on-site. City parks carry an even stricter rule: alcohol is banned outright in every Turlock park unless the City Council specifically permits sale or distribution for a special event.

Violations & Fines

Consuming alcohol in a banned public location is a Municipal Code violation enforceable by Turlock Police, who can cite or confiscate on the spot.

Frequently Asked Questions

No. TMC 5-9-02 makes consuming alcohol on any sidewalk, street, or alley in Turlock unlawful unless the location is City-licensed to serve it.
Is alcohol ever allowed in a Turlock city park?
Only if the City Council grants special permission for a special event; TMC 10-1-10 otherwise bans alcohol in every City park.
