Chapter 62's Article X, 'Toy Vehicles,' targets motorized versions of skateboards and scooters rather than ordinary human-powered ones. Section 62-412 defines a 'skateboard' as 'any narrow board mounted on rollerskate wheels,' a 'scooter' as a standing toy vehicle with a mounted board on wheels and handlebars 'which is propelled by a motor,' and 'other toy vehicle' as any similar riding or standing device. ' Section 62-410 adds that operating in violation of the article is a misdemeanor, and that a parent or guardian may not knowingly permit a child or ward to violate the article.
