Full Breakdown
County Code § 9.38.015 doesn't ban skateboarding outright; it lets any owner or lawful possessor of private or publicly owned property in unincorporated Sacramento County prohibit skateboards, roller skates, in-line skates, roller skis, or similar devices by posting signs at each entrance stating the area of prohibition. Once posted, riding one of those devices on that property is a violation. § 9.38.020 sets the penalty ladder: up to $50 for a first offense, $100 for a second within a year, and $250 for each additional violation within a year of the second.
Violations & Fines
Riding a skateboard, roller skates, in-line skates, or roller skis on private or public property posted with a prohibition sign violates § 9.38.015, punishable under § 9.38.020 by a $50 first-offense fine rising to $250 for repeat violations within a year.
