020 prohibits riding a skateboard, motorized skateboard, in-line skate, roller skate, or similar device on any private or public property that has been posted under this chapter, and it separately authorizes property owners to post or erect the prohibition signs at their own expense. 010, so the ban does not by itself apply to an ordinary public street or sidewalk. 030 requires the property owner to erect authorized signs, at least 17 inches by 22 inches with one-inch-tall lettering, posted at a minimum of two entrances, and to file a signed consent form with the police department authorizing police enforcement on that property.
Properties with more than two entrances need a signage plan approved by the chief of police. 020, Fremont Police Department 790-6800. 040 requires the signs to be placed so as to resist vandalism or theft, though a property owner's failure to do that does not by itself void enforcement. 050.

A missing or damaged sign does not automatically excuse a rider if the owner otherwise complied and simply lost a sign to vandalism, per Section 10.15.040.
