Full Breakdown
Safety Harbor's parks and recreation code bans skateboards, motorized or manual, along with roller skates, in-line skates, scooters, and bicycles from city park areas except in locations the city manager or a designee has approved for that use. The rule sits in the same section that limits ball games, frisbees, and model aircraft to areas suited for them. Park employees and city staff can warn riders and refer violations to law enforcement; officers issue citations under the general penalty section of the Code, which allows fines up to $500 and up to 60 days in jail when no specific penalty is set.
Violations & Fines
Riding a skateboard, scooter, or bike outside city manager-approved park areas is a code violation; officers can cite under Sec. 1.12's general penalty: up to $500 and 60 days in jail.
