Warrick County, IN Public Conduct: Skateboarding Rules (2026)

Warrick County Code Section 39.15, titled "Certain Activities Prohibited" and codified under the Judicial Center and Courthouse Square subchapter, states that no skateboarding, rollerblading, bicycling or use of any other type of recreational wheeled object is allowed on or about the County Judicial Center premises, grounds, sidewalks, parking lots, or otherwise within the immediate vicinity of the Judicial Center, as well as on the Courthouse Square and its grounds. The ordinance was passed by the Board of Commissioners in February 2000 specifically to protect these two civic sites, which also carry a companion weapons ban under Section 39.16, showing the county treats the Judicial Center and Courthouse Square as a security-sensitive campus rather than general public grounds.

The rule does not extend to other county property, parks, or roads; it is limited by its own text to the Judicial Center vicinity and the Courthouse Square. There is no permit or exception process written into the section, so the prohibition is absolute for wheeled recreational activity at those two locations, day or night.
