010 and adds agricultural uses to whatever the base district already allows. 020 permits animal husbandry and livestock farming by right, capped at one horse, one mule, one cow, one steer, or five sheep for each half acre of land, and allows sale of agricultural products grown on the premises from a temporary stand, though no permanent commercial structure may be built for that purpose. Small livestock farming is also permitted outright up to 100 head of poultry or animals; above that threshold a use permit is required.

030 shifts three specific uses into the discretionary-review column regardless of scale: dog and cat kennels, dairy/poultry/rabbit slaughter and processing, and veterinary hospitals all need a use permit before they can operate on A-district land. 040 requires barns, stables, chicken houses, and similar accessory buildings to sit at least 50 feet from the front property line, 20 feet from any side property line, and 30 feet from any dwelling, protecting neighboring residences from the noise and odor of farm structures while still allowing them to be built close to the working portions of the parcel.

Folsom's municipal code does not contain a separate right-to-farm nuisance-immunity ordinance; agricultural protection here operates entirely through this zoning framework rather than through a statement that properly conducted farm operations cannot be deemed a nuisance.
