Under SMMC Chapter 6.20, hosts must take responsibility for and actively prevent any nuisance activities resulting from home-sharing, including noise. The standard residential noise limits of SMMC §4.12 apply — 50 dBA nighttime and 55 dBA daytime in residential zones. Hosts are required to provide guests with information about noise rules. Two citations that become final during a permit term will trigger a 30-day suspension of the home-sharing permit. Hosts must ensure guests do not disturb the peace of the surrounding neighborhood.
