The Home-Sharing Ordinance codifies 10 PM quiet hours for all STR guests. Hosts must provide a Code of Conduct to every guest covering noise and good-neighbor rules. Standard LAMC noise ordinance (Chapter XI) also applies. Repeated noise complaints can trigger registration revocation.
LAMC Section 12.22(A)(32)(e)(8) requires hosts to provide a City-issued Code of Conduct to all guests covering behavioral, safety, and security requirements. Amplified sound is not permitted after 10 PM. Evening outdoor congregations of more than 8 people, excluding children, are prohibited. Hosts are responsible for any nuisance violations arising during home-sharing activities, even if committed by guests, under Section 12.22(A)(32)(e)(1). All general noise regulations under LAMC Chapter XI (Sections 112.01, 115.02) also apply to short-term rental guests.
Hosts face liability for guest nuisance violations per LAMC Section 12.27.1(B). Repeated complaints may lead to registration revocation. Fines for non-compliance can reach $2,000 per day.
