All vehicles associated with a Davie vacation rental must be parked in the property's driveway, unless the home has designated street parking. No sidewalk, grass, or neighboring-property parking is allowed. The maximum number of vehicles is fixed by the exterior parking sketch filed with the registration.
Sec. 16-156(a)(6) requires that all vehicles associated with a vacation rental be parked within a driveway located on the subject property, unless the residential home or unit has designated street parking. The town's application materials add that vehicles must be parked in designated paved spaces, pre-approved temporary parking, or the driveway, with no sidewalk, street (except where designated), grass parking, or encroachment onto neighboring property. As part of registration, the owner must submit an exterior sketch delineating all off-street parking spaces so the town can fix the maximum number of vehicles allowed; the owner acknowledges and must post that maximum and notify guests (Sec. 16-153 and the town's posting requirements). Parking of trailers, boats, and recreational vehicles must comply with Davie's general code, including Chapter 12. The owner's application acknowledgement (Sec. 16-153(a)(5)) also confirms vehicles must be parked in compliance with all town, county, and state laws. Parking standards like these are a recognized local power under Fla. Stat. Sec. 509.032(7), which preempts duration and frequency rules but allows local governments to manage parking, noise, and similar nuisance impacts of vacation rentals.
Parking on the street where not designated, on grass, on sidewalks, or on neighboring property violates Sec. 16-156. The responsible party must address parking complaints within one hour, and violations can draw up to $500 per occurrence (Sec. 16-160).
