Full Breakdown

As part of the registration application, Town of Davie Code § 16-153(a)(7) requires proof of registration with the Florida Department of Revenue for sales tax collection and with Broward County for the Tourist Development Tax before a certificate of compliance can be issued. Separately, § 16-154 authorizes the town to charge registration fees to cover administrative costs, with the actual fee amounts set from time to time by town council resolution rather than fixed in the code itself. Once paid, registration fees are non-refundable regardless of outcome.

Violations & Fines

Failing to furnish proof of state and county tax registration blocks issuance of the certificate of compliance, and non-payment of the registration fee prevents registration from being completed.
