Full Breakdown

Sec. 12-33(O)(1) caps residential fences and walls at six feet, rising to an eight-foot limit where the plot line abuts nonresidentially zoned land; the RR, AG and A-1 equestrian/agricultural districts are exempted from this height cap except as separately addressed in Sec. 12-286 and Sec. 12-288. Sec. 12-33(O)(3) layers on a corner-visibility rule: within any residential district, no opaque fence, wall or hedge may exceed two feet above street grade within twenty-five feet of any intersecting street lines, preserving sightlines for drivers pulling out of an intersection.

Violations & Fines

Building an oversized or sight-blocking fence violates Davie's Land Development Code; Davie Code § 1-9 sets the Town's general penalty: up to a $500 fine, up to 60 days jail, or both, per day the fence remains.
