San Marcos does not have STR-specific parking regulations separate from the city's general parking rules. All vehicles, including those of STR guests, are subject to the 72-hour street parking limit on public roads. Recreation vehicles and mobile living units are prohibited from parking on residential streets at any time and on all city streets between 2 AM and 6 AM per SMMC Section 12.20.160(a). STR hosts should ensure guests have access to adequate off-street parking and provide clear parking instructions in their house rules. Street parking must not block driveways, fire hydrants, or sidewalks.
