Beyond the STR permit, South Fulton requires an Occupational Tax Certificate (business license) under Sec. 12-3004(b), a sworn code-compliance verification, public notice to neighbors, and posting of the permit inside the unit. STR permits expire annually (December 30/31) and must be renewed with a $200 fee.
Under Sec. 12-3005, a complete STR application must be furnished under oath and include the owner's and STR agent's contact information, the address of the unit, the number and location of parking spaces, the owner's sworn acknowledgement that they have read Chapter 3, a sworn code-compliance verification form, a written exemplar rental agreement, proof of current ownership, proof of liability insurance, and the STR agent's written certification. Section 12-3004(b) makes clear the STR permit does not replace the separate requirement to obtain and annually maintain an Occupational Tax Certificate (business license) under Title 2, Chapter 5. Applicants must also satisfy public-notice rules in Sec. 12-3005(f): post a notice sign on the property in a conspicuous spot for at least 15 days before issuance, and mail notice to all property owners within 300 feet of the property at least 15 days before the permit is issued, using the current Fulton County tax records. Under Sec. 12-3008, a legible copy of the permit must be posted inside the unit showing the STR agent's contact information, the permit number, the maximum occupancy, and the maximum number of vehicles. Permits expire December 30 (the application form states December 31) and must be renewed annually with a $200 nonrefundable renewal fee and a current Occupational Tax Certificate.
Operating without the required Occupational Tax Certificate, failing to complete public notice, or failing to post the permit violates Chapter 3. False statements in the application are grounds for revocation, suspension, denial of future applications, and the fines in Sec. 12-3009.
