Under the Denton Development Code, the Director of Development Services may revoke a short-term rental registration if the registrant received three notices for Property Maintenance Code violations, or citations for DDC, other city ordinance, or state/federal law violations, at the property within the preceding 12 months. The same three-strike trigger applies if the registrant knowingly permitted a guest or other person to rack up three such violations. A knowingly false statement on the registration application is an independent, immediate revocation ground. Revocation notice is mailed certified and takes effect 14 days later, and if the registrant does not successfully appeal, no new STR registration can be issued for that address for 12 months.
