Garage sale signs are also referred to as rummage sale signs.(2)REGULATIONS. Garage sale signs are regulated exclusively by this section and §6.4.4 of the Zoning Code. They shall:(a)Not require a sign permit or permit fee.(b)Be permitted only in residential zoning districts as an on-premises sign.(c)Not exceed 4 square feet in sign area. No "on-premises, sign area bonus" applies to garage sale signs.(d)Not exceed 5' in height.(e)Not exceed 5 in number.(f)Meet the setback requirements of the Zoning Code and not be placed in the public right-of-way (on official traffic signs or utility poles in the public right-of-way or on the terrace) or within a vision triangle in violation of §8.4 of the Zoning Code.(g)Not be displayed for more than 3 consecutive days.

Ignoring that notice draws a municipal citation, and any ordinance violation without its own stated penalty falls back to the Code's general forfeiture of up to $50 per violation plus costs of prosecution, with up to 60 days in the county jail if the forfeiture goes unpaid.
