Conway, AR Sign Regulations: Garage Sale Signs (2026)

Section 4.60.06 of the Conway Municipal Code governs garage and yard sale signs and applies only to residential sales; no permit is required to post one. Every sign must be six square feet or smaller and mounted on a single or double freestanding stake rather than attached to something else. Property owners get one sign at the sale location for each street frontage the property has, and the ordinance allows one additional pointer sign per sale to be placed at an intersection, subject to placement conditions.

Those conditions bar attaching, stapling, gluing or taping any garage or yard sale sign to a utility pole, street sign, tree, stop sign or fence, and bar placing a sign in the public right-of-way in a way that interferes with vehicular or pedestrian traffic or with a neighboring residential, commercial or industrial property. Timing is also fixed: a sign cannot go up on public property any earlier than 6:00 p.m. the evening before the sale starts, and it has to come down by 7:00 p.m. on the day the sale ends, so a weekend sale that wraps up Saturday needs its signs removed by 7:00 p.m. that same day.
