Live Oak, TX Sign Regulations: Garage Sale Signs (2026)

The City of Live Oak regulates temporary garage sale signs under its sign ordinance to prevent visual clutter and sign litter. Residents may post garage sale signs on their own property in reasonable sizes (typically no larger than 4 square feet). Off-site signs placed on private property require the consent of that property owner; posting on neighbor lawns without permission is prohibited. Signs may not be attached to utility poles, traffic signs, street light poles, trees in the public right-of-way, or placed in medians, on sidewalks, or in grass strips between sidewalks and curbs.
