Parker, TX Sign Regulations: Garage Sale Signs (2026)

05(P) authorizes a Parker resident holding a garage sale to place not more than 4 signs to advertise it, each capped at 4 square feet in area and 4 feet in height as measured from grade to the top of the sign. The signs may go up only between sunrise and sunset of the day the sale is actually taking place, so overnight or multi-day postings before the sale are not permitted under this provision. Placement is also restricted by location. Most of the signs must stay on the property where the sale is being held; the resident may use no more than 3 additional off-site signs to direct traffic toward the sale.

05(P)(2) requires each sign to clearly identify the name, address, and telephone number of the person conducting the sale, so code enforcement and neighbors can trace an improperly placed sign back to the responsible resident. Garage sale signs sit within Chapter 153's broader sign scheme, alongside other temporary sign categories such as real estate and homeowners association signs, each with its own size, timing, and placement limits. 05 governs authorized signs generally, a garage sale sign that exceeds the 4-square-foot or 4-foot limits, stays up outside the sunrise-to-sunset window, or omits the seller's contact information is treated as noncompliant with the chapter.
