Palm Beach Gardens does not set a blanket calendar window for holiday lights on private homes; instead, its sign code channels seasonal displays into an approved pole-mounted banner program under section 78-292. Banners, whether for brand identification or as a holiday decoration, are allowed only on existing light poles in public institutional, commercial, or mixed-use zoned areas. Every program, except banners the city installs on its own property, needs a miscellaneous plan approval from city council, supported by a current site plan showing banner locations, the light pole detail, and banner artwork limited to the development's name, logo, and branding rather than any individual tenant's name or logo.

When more than one seasonal set of banners is sought, city council reviews and approves each design and can prescribe the specific time period that particular set may be displayed, so a holiday set's dates are set program by program rather than by a fixed ordinance date. Operating rules cap it at one banner per pole, two-sided with identical artwork on each face, and bar pruning trees, palms, or shrubs beyond code or accepted maintenance standards just to hang a banner. Banners cannot block traffic control devices, pedestrian signage, or existing signs.

Every pole-mounted banner in the city must come down within 24 hours of the National Hurricane Center placing Palm Beach Gardens inside a tropical storm or hurricane watch's three-day cone of probability, and the city can order any banner removed or replaced within ten days of notice if it becomes faded, torn, or otherwise falls out of repair.
