Palm Beach Gardens, FL Sign Regulations: Garage Sale Signs (2026)

Sec. 78-188(e) of the Palm Beach Gardens Code sets the sign rules that apply to any garage, yard, or rummage sale permitted under the same section. The rule allows exactly two signs per sale: one located along the street frontage of the address or location hosting the sale, and a second at the intersection closest to that location. Neither sign can exceed four square feet, a size limit tied directly to the temporary, residential nature of the event rather than the city's general commercial sign standards elsewhere in Chapter 78.

Timing is just as tightly controlled as size: a sign can go up no earlier than one day before the sale begins, and every sign associated with the event must come down on the last day the sale runs. Because Sec. 78-188 also requires the underlying sale itself to be approved by the growth management department and capped at three consecutive days, three sales per year, and 120 days apart, the sign window tracks that same short, infrequent cycle rather than allowing signage to linger between sales.

The signage limits sit alongside the sale's other physical-conduct rules, including the requirement that display tables and merchandise not block parking spaces or vehicle circulation aisles at a multifamily development, school, or place of worship.
