City Code of Ordinances § 8.4.A sets identical permanent window-sign standards across four district groups: Office Districts (§ 8.4.A.3), Commercial Districts (§ 8.4.A.4), Industrial Districts (§ 8.4.A.5), and Institutional and Recreational Districts (§ 8.4.A.7). Each caps window signage at 15% of the door, window, or storefront area and guarantees a minimum of 20 square feet regardless of storefront size; the tables list no numeric limit on how many window signs may be posted or on their height. Separately, § 8.2.B exempts window signs applied to the interior of glazed areas from the building-permit requirement that otherwise applies to permanent signage citywide, though a sign permit and compliance with the area cap are still required under § 8.2.A.

Temporary construction-period window signage is treated differently: § 8.4.B.2 lets a project with an active building permit post window signs covering 100% of the window area until the certificate of occupancy issues or the permit expires. Real estate window signs are capped separately at 12 square feet per § 8.4.B.3, one per street frontage, with waterfront lots allowed one additional sign. Sign permit applications generally take up to 30 days for city review under § 8.2.A.4, with denials appealable to the City Commission within 30 days under § 8.2.A.5.
