SIGNS NOT TO COVER WINDOWS, DOORS OR SIMILAR OPENINGS: No sign shall cover a window, doorway, or other opening providing light or ventilation or exit facilities which are required by the most current City-adopted edition of the International Building Code or International Fire Code to be necessary to give access to the building, or to afford fire protection in the event of a fire; provided, however, that flat signs, wall signs, cloth signs and projecting signs may cover transoms.
