Window signs shall be permitted on ground floor establishments, not to exceed one-third of the total window area, as bounded by the outer window frame. All signage included within this area shall be located at the top third or bottom third of the window in order to enhance the transparency of the windows. All ground floor windows must maintain a minimum 66 percent transparency, except as noted in subsection b below. Ground floor windows must not be blacked out, blocked or mirror tinted.b.Merchandise displays: Merchandise displays without signage shall be exempt from these requirements, but must not block more than 50 percent of the transparent window area.c.Interior signs must be non-illuminated and placed a minimum of 15 feet from the window glass or building opening and must be located only in areas accessible to the public in order to be exempt from these requirements. Said signs must not exceed 20 square feet in copy area.7.Instructional signs. Instructional signs identifying an entrance or providing direction with no commercial advertising shall be permitted. Signs must be a maximum of four square feet in size. Signs must not be placed to obstruct any portion of a window, doorway, transom, or other architectural detail and must not project above the top of the façade or wall.
