06(O), part of the Standards for Special Category Signs, treats window signs as their own category with two distinct tracks. Paragraph 5 sets the permanent-sign ceiling: permanent window signs cannot occupy more than twenty percent of the total window area on a given storefront. Paragraph 6 layers on placement and format rules for those permanent signs, restricting them to windows on the ground level and second story of a building frontage, and requiring the signage itself to consist of individual letters, logos, or symbols applied directly to the glass, though neon signs with transparent backgrounds may be hung just inside the window line.
