Section 6-810 of the Lawrence City Code sets two hard limits on licensed door-to-door activity. , a flat citywide curfew that applies regardless of daylight or season. Second, no peddler, solicitor, or transient merchant may attempt to contact any residence or business that prominently displays a "No Solicitors" sign, a "No Trespassers" sign, or any other sign communicating that the occupants do not want to be approached; the rule is written broadly enough to cover homemade or nonstandard signage as long as the message is clear.

There is no city-run do-not-knock registry: the posted sign at the property is the enforcement mechanism. A violation of section 6-810 is expressly listed in section 6-811(a)(2) as grounds for the chief of police or city clerk to revoke the offender's solicitor's license, with written notice mailed to the licensee and a 14-day window to appeal the revocation to the governing body under section 6-812.
