Lehi, UT Soliciting & Door-to-Door: No-Knock Registry (2026)

City Code section 4-4-17 lets any occupant post a "No Solicitation" sign or placard on or near the main entrance door, or near the property line adjacent to the sidewalk leading to the residence, and that posting counts as legal notice that the resident does not invite solicitors. The rule reaches everyone, including solicitors otherwise exempt from Lehi's registration requirement under this chapter. Section 4-4-18 then makes it the solicitor's job to check every residence for a sign before approaching: if one is posted, the solicitor must desist and immediately leave.

It is a separate violation under subsection 4-4-18(B) for a solicitor to knock, ring the doorbell, or otherwise try to attract the attention of an occupant at a posted residence, even without a certificate of registration. Solicitors must also depart immediately if an occupant asks them to leave, may not touch a person without consent, may not follow anyone into a residence without explicit consent, must stop once a resident has clearly communicated a lack of interest, and may not use obscene language or gestures.
