Cedar Park Code Art. 6.04 requires a city-issued permit for any peddler or solicitor; applications are filed online through MyGovernmentOnline with a 72-hour minimum review by the Director of Development Services.
Article 6.04 (Peddlers) of the Cedar Park Code requires anyone wishing to peddle or solicit door-to-door within the city to file a permit application. No permit may be issued until the application has been on file at least 72 hours; within that window the Director of Development Services or designee will either issue the permit or notify the applicant that the application is non-compliant. Permit fees and term are set by the Cedar Park fee schedule. Operations are limited to between the earlier of 8:00 p.m. or 30 minutes after sunset and the later of 7:00 a.m. or 30 minutes after sunrise. The ordinance is subject to First-Amendment constraints from Reed v. Town of Gilbert (2015) and Watchtower v. Stratton β purely religious or political canvassing generally cannot be required to obtain a fee-based commercial permit.
Soliciting without a permit, or outside the permitted hours, is a Class C misdemeanor under Art. 6.04 and Code Β§1.01.009 (up to $500).
